Learning Focus

Students have settled into face to face learning quite well. Staff have focussed on ensuring there is continuity in the program and that the school routine is re-established for all students. Learning focus is now on examinations and On Demand Testing as a part of our assessment schedule. On Demand Testing allows students and staff to check student growth in literacy and numeracy throughout this year. Students have been completing Progression Tasks and Common Assessment Task across all subject areas. The final VCAA exams were completed this week while Year 12 2022 students have begun their orientation program.

Valedictory

The College community was able to gather on Wednesday November 17 to acknowledge the Year 12 class of 2021. Congratulations to our class of 2021 on their commitment and dedication during challenging times. They have contributed proactively and productively to the College over six years. We were able to acknowledge each student individually as well as celebrate subject award winners in the VCE and VCAL program. I would like to thank Ms Gentile and Ms Steeper for their support, encouragement, leadership and care of this cohort during their final year of formal education. Well done!

First Aid and Early Leavers Processes

As we have returned to on site learning, and given the current operational guidelines required by the Department of Education, this is a timely reminder of the procedures required for early leavers passes and first aid processes.

Early leavers pass process:

  • Parents who need to collect their child from school early for any reason during the school day are asked to send a written note with their child, to be brought to the school office before school on the day of early departure. The student will be issued with an early leavers pass to show their teacher when it is time for them to leave.
  • The student then signs out at the front office before leaving the school premises.

We understand that situations may sometime arise during the day, and in this instance, parents are asked to phone the school well in advance of the leaving time to arrange this, before coming to pick up their child. This gives the office staff time to locate the student and arrange for them to be waiting at the office at the specified time, causing minimum disruption to all involved.

Please Note: Where at all possible, it is preferred that any appointments are scheduled outside of school hours.

First Aid:

  • It is important that when a student feels unwell at school, they report to Sick Bay only.
  • Where it is deemed necessary, parents will be contacted by the First Aid staff.
  • Students should NOT contact parents directly using mobile phones or via email.
  • If a child is unwell and sent home they are required to undertake a COVID test and not return to school until evidence of negative test is sighted by the school.

We appreciate your support and understanding regarding these matters.
