Bronze Duke of Ed Award Program At Murrindindi Scenic Reserve
Our Bronze Award students completed their assessed adventurous journey over the last 2 days, they demonstrated a sense of excitement as well as achievement, which they certainly deserve!
They have completed a physically and mentally demanding hike with full pack over 25km around some very demanding terrain up and down waterfalls around both ends of the Scenic reserve.
It was an absolute pleasure to organise an adventurous journey activity for this group. The students were fantastic throughout the preparation, the intense hike and their time around camp. They took everything in their stride, being totally self-sufficient with no complaints at any time.
The students really embraced the philosophy of the award. They have developed confidence, team work, independence, organisation and the variety of skills in cooking, navigation and camp craft. I’m very excited about reading their final logs reflecting their achievements from the experience. We had a small reflection on camp last night and the student clearly demonstrated and shared areas they felt they had achieved.
Well done to all involved and look forward to completing all areas of the award program!
