Students had the threat of thunderstorms, 10 – 20 mm of rain and a fast flowing current in rising Yarra.
We paddled the 8km section of river from Homestead Road to Wittons Reserve featuring some quite substantial rapids that have caught a number of experienced paddlers out.
All students embraced the experience! They listened well to the safety instructions, persevered at developing their skills of steering and paddling. With only a few student capsizing, all had a great day. They were responsible, supportive of each other and extremely respectful to the instructors – a pleasure to take out!!!
