Our Outdoor Education group explored the rapids along the Yarra River today in double kayaks. They worked extremely hard throughout their activity along the 5km stretch from Homestead Road to Wittons Reserve. Once again they embraced the whole objectives behind this day; to explore new environments and new activities and give your best efforts to learn new skills expanding your experiences.
The students had to battle in very challenging conditions; even though it was nice and sunny and warm, the wind created a harsh current to constantly paddle against. The river level was extremely low which created more obstacles such as rocks that the students had to fight against as well.
The students constantly demonstrated positive values we love to see in our school community. Resilience, determination, respect, responsibility, partner and group support were constantly shown in bucket loads. Well done to all students, it was great to see you keep recovering from your capsizes!
