Smooth Transition

To assist students with settling in and getting to know their teachers and peers, all our Year 7 classrooms are located in the Year 7 Area. This area also houses the Year 7 teachers’ office, all Year 7 student lockers and facilities for learning extension. This designated Year 7 Area enables students to quickly feel confident in familiar surroundings and gradually work towards independence.

Building Confidence

Students at Lilydale Heights quickly become familiar with their environment and develop a sense of pride in their school. Year 7 students spend the majority of their class time in their allocated Form Room; this becomes a space they feel very comfortable in and can take ownership of. Some specialist subjects are taught in other classrooms across the College, making great use of our extensive facilities. Initially Year 7 teachers escort the students to their classrooms, until they are comfortable making their own way there.
