On Tuesday July 25, Lilydale Heights College hosted the International Middle Years Mathematics Olympiad. Over one hundred and twenty students from Asia and surrounding schools competed in the one-day event.
The aim of the event was for participants to develop an enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics, develop skills in problem solving and critical thinking and to provide opportunities for intercultural acceptance and understanding.
The event was a huge success and the program of activities allowed students to test their skills as well as develop new friendships.
Congratulations must be extended to all the students from Lilydale Heights who competed. Special congratulations to Seb Dickson who received a Gold medal in the competition. An outstanding achievement Seb!
