Middle School Outdoor Ed Semester 2 – Hike and high Ropes Day
We saw many positive aspects today! At the high ropes students realised what perceived risks were and what they felt like whilst waiting to drop from the 15m platform. There was no way they would fall to the ground, but actually leaping off and relying on the harness system was pretty hard enact. The students were extremely respectful of each other's abilities; they supported, they encouraged and offered advice! All was great to see!
Alongside the ropes, the simple walk up the 1000 steps also proved rewarding; students worked alongside members of the community discussing reasons for visiting and their experiences. The students embraced the environment, trying to identify species of fauna and flora and recognise the features of the wet forest from the classroom.
A great job was completed and very much hope this effort, respect and excellence can be replicated for our Kayaking day in Oct!
