The Year 9 Drama class and the Year 11 VCE Theatre Studies class went to the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child performance for our Term 1 assessment. We started the day by catching a train and a tram into the city and got an early lunch, then later on headed across to the Princess Theatre. In the show there was plot twists, funny moments, slightly scary moments and even a couple of sad moments towards the end. After the show we all stayed back with a couple of other schools and each school got to ask some of the cast members one question. This was an amazing experience because we got to see some of the cast reflect on their performance answer our questions. This show was executed so well and we are all so grateful to have had the opportunity to see it.

On Wednesday March 22nd, the Year 11 Theatre Studies class, along with the Year 9 Drama class went out to the city to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. We all had a great time and the show was amazing. Afterwards, we were given an opportunity to have a short Q&A session with some of the cast and crew, which was an excellent experience. There was lots of interesting discussion about character development and acting and it was an amazing opportunity to give us Year 11 students a better understanding of dramaturgy for our upcoming Analysing Performance SAC.
