Well done to our Level 3 Compass Award group, who completed their exploration through parts of Warrandyte State Park on Wednesday 5th October. Students had to be self-sufficient and navigate themselves around their course. They had to put up tents and cook their lunches on the Trangia stove around parts of the route.
The students were excellent throughout the whole day. Their walking was full of energy and they coped very well with the hilly terrain. There were certainly no complaints about anything! All members of the group were constantly looking at the route on the map, taking an interest in their surroundings and wanting to learn about the history of the park; in particular the mine shafts.
It was great to get the students out into the natural environments, working together as a team and overcoming challenges; all integral parts of this Award Program. The cooking of lunches also was also completed without any issues; I was so impressed as their assessor. Thank you for a great day Level 3 Award group!!!
