Silver Duke of Ed Practice 3 Day Practice Hike.

The Silver Duke of Ed group travelled way to Mt Disappointment State park over this wet weekend. It was a massive learning experience for the Silver Duke of Ed group. They certainly developed their working as a group and spent time coming together to face and overcome many challenges. Bad weather, getting lost and encountering slippery track conditions were some of our challenges.

It was an experience where they extended their appreciation of navigation skills and making specific observations/group decision of which tracks to take. When in camp the group explored local environments and increased their awareness of suitable meals to cook in order to sustain their energy levels. It was great to work with the students over the weekend and spend time discussing/appreciating many things they have not come in to contact within the natural environments. I was very impressed at their resilience and determination as they mastered the Mt Disappointment State Park. We will be taking our reflections forward to the final assessed 3-day experience at Mt Stirling later in the year.
