It is absolutely fabulous to see students that have been working so hard for the last two years working towards gaining their Gold Awards.
Congratulations to Isabella Theophanous Maddison and Franc D’Couto; two of our students who have been extremely passionate about their work through the Award Program. Since Year 7 they have gained their Compass Awards, their Bronze, Silver and now the very prestigious Gold Award. This Award involves five sections over the two years, where the student must set a goal and then work towards it, logging over 52 hours of continuous efforts. The five sections involve: Physical Recreation, Skill, Service to the Community, a 4-day self-directed Adventurous Journey and a 5-day Residential Project.
It has been a pleasure to work with Bella and Franc through their Duke of Ed Awards and it was great to see them go to the official Gold Award Ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall and be presented with their Awards amongst the other 135 Gold awardees in the whole of Victoria. A massive celebration and achievement. Well done Franc and Bella – We wish you well!
