Cathedrals Ranges Hike Experience

This was to be our final Middle School Outdoor Ed experience for the semester; a two day hike from one end of the Cathedral Range National Park to the other.

Principal's Report - September '18

Another term has flown by, the days are longer and the weather is warmer. Lilydale Heights College continues to be an active learning environment where learning and extra curricular opportunities continue to be presented to students by highly committed staff.

Exploration Adventurous Journey - Jumping Creek Reserve

Well done juniors on their first adventurous journey. They were excellent throughout the day walking carefully with their packs over different challenging terrain.

Brunches and Lunches Course

Thanks to Jason and staff at Bean Seen Cafe for having us for breakfast as part of the Brunches and Lunches course.

AED in the College

Lilydale Heights College now has an automated external defibrillator device, thanks to the Mooroolbark Community Branch Bendigo Bank sponsorship. Rosina Fotia, the Principal, welcomed Rowan Alexander, Mooroolbark Community Branch Bendigo Bank Branch Manager, today during the delivery of the AED. We would like to thank the Mooroolbark Community Branch Bendigo Bank and Branch Manager, Rowan Alexander for their support of the College.

Hike and High Ropes - September '18

At the high ropes students realised what perceived risks were and what they felt like whilst waiting to drop from the 15m platform. There was no way they would fall to the ground, but actually leaping off and relying on the harness system was pretty hard enact.

Warrandyte State Park Journey

It has been a challenging couple of days in various ways for the students. Walking in the rain with full hike pack created some hazards on the slippery tracks. All students coped very well and developed their navigation techniques.

Principal's Report - August '18

Term 3 has an uninterrupted focus on teaching and learning. Students are busy in all classes where teachers are actively involved in challenging their learning and developing an environment where students are encouraged to extend themselves.
