Year 11 Outdoor Environment Studies Camp - Feb '19

Our New Year 11 OES group were ready to journey to Phillip Island for their investigation. We left the school in rainy, gale force winds Tuesday afternoon. The rain and wind continued throughout the night reaching gusts of 80km per hour at times with heavy rain impacting our tents.

Another year has very quickly come and gone. It is difficult to believe that this is the final newsletter for the 2018 school year. It has been a very busy year and December has been no exception. While the College is busy preparing for the 2019 school year, many programs and activities have continued to be prepared and delivered to students still at the College.

The end of year examination period is well underway across all year levels. Year 11 students have now completed their examination period and the Middle School exams have begun.

Year 8 日本語 @ LHC

After two years of studying Japanese at the College, Year 8 students have written their final assessment task for the year – a letter written in Japanese script, using genkoyoushi.

Kayaking and Celebration Afternoon at Lilydale Lake

Well done to all our award students who attended the celebration and social afternoon. There was a variety of students across the year levels from year 7 to year 11.

Cathedrals Ranges Hike Experience

This was to be our final Middle School Outdoor Ed experience for the semester; a two day hike from one end of the Cathedral Range National Park to the other.

Young Entrepreneurs Program

A select number of Year 10 students have been granted the opportunity to complete a two day workshop with Cameron Greenwood, creator and director of MONSTA Surf.

Middle School Kayaking - Oct '18

Our Outdoor Education group explored the rapids along the Yarra River today in double kayaks.

Our Bronze Award students completed their assessed adventurous journey over the last 2 days

Pride in Government Schools

On Wednesday September 19, Lilydale Heights College hosted the Regional Director and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education, Judy Rose and Bruce Armstrong.

Another term has flown by, the days are longer and the weather is warmer. Lilydale Heights College continues to be an active learning environment where learning and extra curricular opportunities continue to be presented to students by highly committed staff.
