Congratulations to all the students who participated in this Carnival on March 7. We had 12 students who represented the College, not only swimming in their events they had won at the College Carnival, as well as participating in other events which resulted in Lilydale Heights coming 6th overall, including coming 3rd in the Junior Aggregate.
Our Compass and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group started their activities this week. On Tuesday 19th March after school our students made their way to Clifford Park activity Centre in Wonga Park.
Once again this year, the Year 10 Peer Support classes headed down for a day at Year 7 camp.
Students had planned various beach activities for the afternoon and enjoyed seeing the camp site again after a few years – they shared stories of their own experience of Year 7 camp on the way down.
On Tuesday 12th March, 4 student representatives from the SIRC attended the GRIP Student Leadership Conference in the city.

Swimming was held this year on the last day of Summer and, boy, did we know it! A great day was had by all, plenty of shade and sunscreen and the chance to participate in not just swimming events, but the 5 minute challenges, Melbourne Cup and Ball Toss in the wading pool meant everyone could keep cool.
Our New Year 11 OES group were ready to journey to Phillip Island for their investigation. We left the school in rainy, gale force winds Tuesday afternoon. The rain and wind continued throughout the night reaching gusts of 80km per hour at times with heavy rain impacting our tents.
I would like to welcome everyone from the school community to the 2019 school year. I trust that everyone had a safe and restful summer break and are ready for the upcoming year.
Another year has very quickly come and gone. It is difficult to believe that this is the final newsletter for the 2018 school year. It has been a very busy year and December has been no exception. While the College is busy preparing for the 2019 school year, many programs and activities have continued to be prepared and delivered to students still at the College.
The end of year examination period is well underway across all year levels. Year 11 students have now completed their examination period and the Middle School exams have begun.
After two years of studying Japanese at the College, Year 8 students have written their final assessment task for the year – a letter written in Japanese script, using genkoyoushi.
Well done to all our award students who attended the celebration and social afternoon. There was a variety of students across the year levels from year 7 to year 11.
