Many students enjoyed the part of walking in the outdoor environment, taking notice of twin rainbows etc.
Many of the students ventured into an Alpine environment for the first time, even though it is autumn, they realised we need to be prepared for every type of weather condition no matter what the season.
The Peer Support students visited some of our local Primary Schools this week and did a great job running activities and practising their leadership skills. The Aged Care home visit was also a highlight, with students hearing some amazing stories from some members of our community.
Congratulations to the SIRC students who organised an awesome celebration for Harmony Day.
Thank you to all families who provided food for the lunch and to all students who dressed up. It was a wonderful atmosphere that celebrated the diverse community that we live in.
Our Compass and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group started their activities this week. On Tuesday 19th March after school our students made their way to Clifford Park activity Centre in Wonga Park.
Once again this year, the Year 10 Peer Support classes headed down for a day at Year 7 camp.
Students had planned various beach activities for the afternoon and enjoyed seeing the camp site again after a few years – they shared stories of their own experience of Year 7 camp on the way down.
On Tuesday 12th March, 4 student representatives from the SIRC attended the GRIP Student Leadership Conference in the city.
Students learnt about various different aspects of successful leadership as well as useful tips on how to advance the SIRC in 2019.
Our New Year 11 OES group were ready to journey to Phillip Island for their investigation. We left the school in rainy, gale force winds Tuesday afternoon. The rain and wind continued throughout the night reaching gusts of 80km per hour at times with heavy rain impacting our tents.
Well done to all our award students who attended the celebration and social afternoon. There was a variety of students across the year levels from year 7 to year 11.
This was to be our final Middle School Outdoor Ed experience for the semester; a two day hike from one end of the Cathedral Range National Park to the other.
Our Outdoor Education group explored the rapids along the Yarra River today in double kayaks.
Our Bronze Award students completed their assessed adventurous journey over the last 2 days
