It was game time! The Outdoor Ed students had the opportunity on Wednesday 6th October to adapt and use their paddling skills and put them into a new up-and-coming fun activity.
White Water Rafting is quite a demanding activity, physically as well as mentally; students must always be switched on to read the river and recognise the direction of the current and positioning of any rocks.
The students embraced their non-stop 25-hour camp experience, they worked hard throughout the experience; listening and following instructions and creating an extremely supportive, enthusiastic atmosphere.
Wow!! What a jam packed and exhilarating three days Year 8 Camp was! From the start till the end everyone put their best foot forward, supporting each other and always stepping outside of their own comfort zones.
Our 12 Award students in Level 3 spent the day working around Warrandyte State Park.
Despite challenging conditions, the students worked extremely hard on their cross country skiing visit to Mt Stirling Alpine Park.
Well done to the students in our Middle School Outdoor Ed group for their efforts on Monday August 12. In the morning we ventured around the fallen trees on the way up the 1,000 steps and then carried on to the high ropes at Tree Tops Adventure.
A member of the Indigenous Cultural Team came in to demonstrate Indigenous weapons, tools, music and cultural stories for our studies, supporting our work in Outdoor Education.
Well done to all of our students working towards their first adventurous exploration around Phillip Island this weekend.
The Silver Duke of Ed group travelled way to Mt Disappointment State park over this wet weekend. It was a massive learning experience for the Silver Duke of Ed group.
Considerable fun was had tonight with our master chefs being put under the pressure to cook a two course meal on the trangias. Groups were assessed on their cooking; the taste of their meals and their organisation of cleaning up as well as their levels of rubbish they created.
Many students enjoyed the part of walking in the outdoor environment, taking notice of twin rainbows etc.
